Every year, school supply lists seem to get longer and longer! Of course, you should try to pick up everything on your child’s school-provided list, but there are always a few things left off the list that you’ll need throughout the year.

Pencils
You can never have enough pencils! Some schools don’t allow mechanical pencils while some only take old-school #2 pencils. Check your own school’s supply list to see how many you need; we suggest doubling that number!
Art Supplies
Colored pencils are usually listed on school supply lists, but don’t forget the optional art supplies! Crayons are very affordable and you can also consider adding markers or even stickers to the list.
Blue Books
Don’t wait until the night before an exam to find out your kid needs Blue Books! If your student is in middle or high school, keep a stack of Blue Books on-hand for any last minute writing tests that pop up.
Construction Paper
You can use construction paper for a variety of things including arts and crafts, projects, and even presentations. And if you have any left over at the end of the year? Take them home for summer playtime!
Teacher Supplies
Teachers usually need all the same supplies as kids, plus a few (hundred) extras. What should you be on your teacher supply list? Permanent markers, dry erase markers, a calculator, highlighters, and dozens of ballpoint pens are always smart to keep on the desk.
